Activating PaceEditor

Suites added by you

For the following cases, you are all set to get started with PaceEditor.

  1. If you own a project, created a robot and added a suite to it. PaceEditor gets automatically configured during the suite creation process for the supported suite types.

  2. If you don’t own a project but have edit rights to it. You can add a suite. PaceEditor gets automatically configured during the suite creation process for the supported suite types.

  3. If the added suite is an empty suite, every person who has edit/view rights to the project can open the editor. The difference being that with view rights one can not save changes to a file.

Suites added by others

Irrespective of whether or not you own a project, but if you are trying to open PaceEditor for a git suite that someone has added. The editor might or might not need extra configuration to open up. There can be two cases for PaceEditor to ask for extra configuration:

  1. Either you don’t have access to the repo. In which case, you need to seek access to the repository itself from its owner. This happens outside of Qentinel Pace.

  2. You do have access to the repo but the authentication token is missing for PaceEditor to communicate with your git. In this case, PaceEditor will ask for an authentication key. Please follow the instruction on how to add access token in github and gitlab.

The configuration is to be carried only for the first time. After which PaceEditor will work seamlessly, until authentication is revoked.
